FOREST+ is an advanced smartphone and satellite based land use / resource management system designed to protect forests from illegal logging and unsustainable land use conversion.

Our Mission

According to Interpol and UNEP the illegal logging industry is estimated to be worth between US$50 to $152 billion per year. An industry, that's built upon paper based certificates and a system that's prone to fraud and open to corruption.

Through Forest+ we're working to help legitimate forest communities distinguish their sustainably harvested tropical hardwood from the unsustainable black market timber that is flooding the market, depressing global prices and fueling illegal deforestation.

We hope that by doing this, we can support industry as they seek to channel their purchasing dollars towards these communities and help them secure a fairer price and the income they require to maintain and protect their forests for future generations.

Verifying supply chains using earth observation technologies will allow consumers to decide the intrinsic value of rainforests. Presently, consumption of rainforest-sourced goods occurs in a black box. Programs such as Forest+ are a major step in bringing transparency to this critically important environmental issue.
